Never heard of a card reader that doesn't work. Try reseating the memory card in the reader and then making sure the reader is properly plugged into the USB port. If that doesn't work, try plugging the reader into a different USB port. USB ports can die. Finally, I would buy another card reader. Other than a card reader and plugging a USB cable from the camera to the computer, I know of no way to access the folder.

Now, there could be many hardware problems, but most likely Its bad RAM or HD is failing. It could be the processor or mobo or video card but it's unlikely. Either bring it in to a repair store or test it yourself with something like "Hirens Ultamite boot CD" google it and burn it to a DVD. Boot from the disk and then select dos programs then testing programs then click memtest. Leave it running for about a day and If there are any errors, it's the ram. Next, run PC check from dos programs, testin tools, PC Check then select advanced tools. Check everything except the ram and only do a "smart" hd scan. If the hd smart tests show anything other than zero for the raw data for anything with th word "sector" in it, the drive is failing. As I said, it would be easier to let a coputer repair tech look at the hardware once you made sure its not the software.

Yes I did hit my head and get a mild concussion, I hit my upper right forehead on the dashboard.. I was knocked unconcious and yes they did do a MRI/CT Scan on my head and said it was normal. I would go for the DV6. I have a couple of these laptops (not your exact model but similar) and have been very happy with their abilities to play music and video. I can play alot of games without any problems (Combat Arms, Sims 3, etc) and find the battery to be reliable, the features very nicely presented and the computer barely gets hot.

Please help!! When I turned on my computer the login name and pics were HUGE and so was the "welcome" When i logged in it was the same thing on my desktop so i went to properties>settings> and then i changed it. I fixed it. But why was it like that? Then i opened up internet explorer and whenver i scroll, it is slow and its like a wave across the screen! My computer seems to go quickly but when i scroll it seems slow. Now my computer is slow after using it for a while. After all of this, now my computer screen went black quickly and then it came back slowly with black lines all over horizontally on the screen. Yesterday i had downloaded a format converter that someone from Yahoo Answers had told me to download. Family member had 2 foot surgeries due to arthritis in their big toe before another doc took it out replacing it with a titanium joint. They had persistent swelling in the foot then the leg after scans & such it was thought to be a knee problem. They felt better but then started getting a bad itch so bad itch they would practically scrape the skin off between 2 of their little toes & around plus they started getting calloused skin on the ball of their foot. Few more injections have followed now the itch has spread mostly now around where the new joint is & the ball of their foot is getting calloused skin on it. They say it feels like the itch is on the inside & it's so bad they say it feels like only a razor could take care of it. Also, when the doctor did the surgery, they didn't bother to shave some bone to make the toe straight again nor did they make the area smaller where the new joint went in as it had gotten really big in that area before the surgery. It went down enough they could wear a lot of their shoes again, but it's really annoying that nothing was adjusted. But the real concern is this bad itching with the ever growing callous. Also, they've been recently diagnosed with "Mortons" some kind of nerve disorder & 2-3 nails on their little toes are giving off the impression that they're dying. What in the world is going on? So, I have been taking this course in my college here at USF called "Racism in America". Today, we had a 2 hour long video viewing about various hate groups and separatist groups, the Skin Heads, KKK, Aryan Nations etc, but in the 2 hours of this video lecture detailing the aspects of hatred on the web. It detailed atrocities like the OKC Bombing, and various hate related murders committed by these groups. In this 2 hour segment, at the end, there was a pamphlet opened from the SPLC detailing the hate groups in this country and their locations. They showed various categories (Skin Heads, KKK, White Separatists) and towards the end of the pamphlet, there was a section called "Black Separatists". There was no mention of this until a student (who happened to be black) asked "What are black separatists"? The professor said "Oh, those are racist groups like Yahweh ben Yahweh". At this point, I was fed up with the lack of objectivity and pointed out that Yahweh ben Yahweh was a group that systematically abducted and ritually killed homeless white people to the class. The professor then said "I don't know, but most of the racist acts are done by these(white supremacist) groups". He damn well knew. Why is black separatism, and other racist organizations like La Raza Unida Party and M.E.Ch.A. glossed over in these college courses about racism in America? Is there some unspoken rule against it? Why are my photos blank (Windows Vista)?

I just imported some photos onto my computer today. I could see the photos fine. Then I proceeded to edit my photos in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I was also running a Norton 360 scan at the same time. When my Norton scan ended, some of my photos were showing up blank/white. I closed Picture Manager without saving and went to see if my photo thumbnails were showing up in my Photos folder. They were still blank so I restarted my computer in hopes of it fixing itself. When my computer restarted, the photos were still coming up blank. I really need these photos and would like to recover them. The files are still there, they just look like I took a picture of a white abyss. My Norton 360 scan cleaned up Windows Temporary Files, and I believe this may have to do with why my photos messed up. Please help.

Why does my computer wake up after a couple minutes of going to sleep?

Brown spotting or discharge?

I go for a doctors appt tomorrow. When i went for a scan at 6 weeks tge doc said he could only see a sac no fetal pole or heartbeat. He also said my uterus was very tilted so that could be why he hasnt seen anything. My levels were still rising so thats why he thinks it just could be my uterus making him not see the baby. Keyboard failure or virus?

So I have this laptop. At first it just seemed like the h key was stuck. Whenever I clicked on something that could type text (search bars, word documents, etc) the letter h would appear over and over. Like this: hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. College courses on Racism in America?

So, I have been taking this course in my college here at USF called "Racism in America". Today, we had a 2 hour long video viewing about various hate groups and separatist groups, the Skin Heads, KKK, Aryan Nations etc, but in the 2 hours of this video lecture detailing the aspects of hatred on the web. It detailed atrocities like the OKC Bombing, and various hate related murders committed by these groups. In this 2 hour segment, at the end, there was a pamphlet opened from the SPLC detailing the hate groups in this country and their locations. They showed various categories (Skin Heads, KKK, White Separatists) and towards the end of the pamphlet, there was a section called "Black Separatists". There was no mention of this until a student (who happened to be black) asked "What are black separatists"? The professor said "Oh, those are racist groups like Yahweh ben Yahweh". At this point, I was fed up with the lack of objectivity and pointed out that Yahweh ben Yahweh was a group that systematically abducted and ritually killed homeless white people to the class. The professor then said "I don't know, but most of the racist acts are done by these(white supremacist) groups". He damn well knew. Why is black separatism, and other racist organizations like La Raza Unida Party and M.E.Ch.A. glossed over in these college courses about racism in America? Is there some unspoken rule against it? 2 weeks ago, I started having horrifying pain in my lower abdomen, accompanied by heavy vaginal bleeding (after my period was a week late). I waited 3 days before going to the hospital, when the pain became too unbearable. They ran every test possible, blood, urine, internal and external ultrasounds, cat scan, internal exam, pap smear and colonoscopy (I have Crohns disease, and they wanted to look and be sure it wasn't that). He suspected appendicitis due to the location of the pain, but I had no sign of infection in my blood nor signs of problems with my appendix on the scans. The doctor was a bit baffled, as not only did nothing look wrong, but all my tests showed I was in fact in excellent health. He said it may have been something called a chemical pregnancy, where I miscarried before it even had a chance to attach itself, but that was his only possible reason for the pain and bleeding. It subsided by that Sunday, and I felt fine last week. This morning, the pain returned in the same area, just as intense as before, and came out of the blue again (no bleeding this time though). This time, however, if I lay flat on my back, you can feel a very swollen something (I'm guessing a lymph node?) on the lower right side near my hip. It is beyond painful to touch. My breasts have also become so sore it hurts when the rub against my bra or shirt. I'm am now 99.999999% sure this has to be something to do with hormones or my female parts. I have had ovarian cysts before that have ruptured and caused similar pain and funny female problems, but in the hospital, they saw no sign of them when the did the ultrasounds. Before I go back and look like a hypochondriac after being told I was in perfect health 2 weeks ago, what might be going on? Anyone have similar symptoms? I'm looking for things to suggest my doctor look for. I'm well in tune with my body, and there is something very wrong, even if it's hiding from the standard tests.

A little over 2 weeks ago, my period had been a week late, I'd been having some funny symptoms, so I took a HPT at night that had a very clear "plus". The next morning, I woke up in a bed full of blood (very very heavy bleeding) and crippling abdominal pain. My husband wanted to take me to the hospital right then and there, but I refused for 3 more days. Finally, I went because the pain wasn't ceasing. At the hospital, they took blood and urine, did an internal exam/pap smear, gave me a external and internal ultrasound, and did a cat scan. Not only did the doctor say they could find nothing wrong, but that I was in fact in excellent health. The only idea he had was I may have experienced a "chemical" pregnancy, which is basically a very very early miscarriage some women can just mistake for a regular period, and all signs of me ever being pregnant would have been gone by the time they ran tests. The pain did eventually subside, and I felt fine last week. Yesterday though, I woke up and my breasts were very sore (I don't actually ever remember them being sore at all, ever, before, I don't get pms bad or anything), and the pain came back as I was walking to work. No bleeding this time though. I have had ovarian cysts rupture and cause similar pain before, but they found no cysts or residual fluid of a ruptured cyst when I was at the hospital, and I seriously doubt one could have grown big enough to rupture and cause immense pain in under 2 weeks. Even if it's hiding from the tests, I just know something is going wrong in my body. The pain is in the lowest part of my abdomen, and it's actually tender to touch. Since I don't feel it's an emergency, and the hospital couldn't help last time, I will be seeing my regular doctor this time. I'm just not understanding what is happening. I'm just looking for some ideas of what might be going on, so I can ask my doctor to test and eliminate it as a possibility or find what's wrong. Anyone else ever experience things like this? I'm 99.99999% sure it has something to do with my female parts malfunctioning, but past cysts or pregnancy, which have been eliminated as causes, I'm not sure what else it could be? And before anyone says it, I DO NOT have a STD (which much to my embarrassment, they routinely test for at the hospital, making me feel like a complete idiot in front of my husband).

How do I delete a virus that wont let my anti-virus program start?

Why are my photos blank (Windows Vista)?

I just imported some photos onto my computer today. I could see the photos fine. Then I proceeded to edit my photos in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I was also running a Norton 360 scan at the same time. When my Norton scan ended, some of my photos were showing up blank/white. I closed Picture Manager without saving and went to see if my photo thumbnails were showing up in my Photos folder. They were still blank so I restarted my computer in hopes of it fixing itself. When my computer restarted, the photos were still coming up blank. I really need these photos and would like to recover them. The files are still there, they just look like I took a picture of a white abyss. My Norton 360 scan cleaned up Windows Temporary Files, and I believe this may have to do with why my photos messed up. Please help.

Before you guys call me out on my carcinophobia, I am doing significantly better today than yesterday. I did have one head CT a little over 2 weeks ago though and I am slightly worried about the radiation exposure. I read somewhere that this procedure averages about 2 mSv, which is significantly less than the FDA max, but I'm wondering if this one scan carries a cancer risk? It's the only CT I've ever had, and I've only had a handful of X-rays of my teeth as far as other screenings are concerned. Is this significant?
